Of course, all of this is expensive to acquire, maintain, and present to the public. Our collections of 14,000 artifacts, 10,000 archives and books, and numerous exhibits acquired over the past 20 years are stored in several buildings in historic downtown St Joseph, Missouri. The museum buildings dates back to 1883, at least one of which is to be on the National Registry of Historic Places. We gratefully accept donations of any kind and any amount . Military items are added to our ever-expanding collections; non-military items may be used or sold in fund raising garage sales from time to time. Donated time and services are accepted and needed. Of course, monetary donations are greatly appreciated. We are not immune to public protest. Last month we were vandalized (see pictures below) by anti-war protesters that painted obscene graffiti on our buildings and several vehicles.

Vandalized
In May 2007, we were hit by vandals who mistook our message to be pro-war instead of pro-veteran and pro-history. Several vehicles and buildings were spray painted with anti-war and obscene graffiti.
This is a tailgate to one of our trucks. "Military EQUALS LEGAL MURDeR"
Here a "six-by" door with obscene anti-war graffiti.

We had help covering the obscenities and graffiti by several young local volunteers and a Boy Scout troop. We are very grateful for all the work they did.
